It's just ridiculous how SCSI4Samplers is just ripping people off. Just a few months back, the card readers were like 150!!

I have had no luck in finding a IISDMC or Microtech PCD-47 internal reader for sale anywhere. Am in the UK so would prefer to buy it here but can't even find one in the States. Maybe i have just completely inept Google skills. Might go with a SCSI Zip drive.

It's so easy to build one into the XL. Anyone can do it.
see my instructions at http://home.tiscali.nl/~smeyer/mpc
Sander,
This is an excellent post with a link that details instructions PLUS pics. Great job!
I think I look for this card reader online and try this mod!
Thx.

I'm pretty sure you're not going to find one unless you buy it online. I looked for months, and all the computer guys laughed their heads off at the mere concept of a SCSI card reader. You can get them on ebay. a seller named "electronics cafe" has been steadily unloading the pcd-47ds for the past couple of months. They all seem to go for 100-115. Just be prepared to spend that.

Yes . . . I have noticed it is not available anywhere and it seems that ebay is the only source . . . that is . . . when there is something available.
The general consensus from MPC-users is get the card reader . . . get the card reader . . . get the card reader, but the hurdle is finding one! For now it seems using zip drives and hard drives . . . once again . . . is the more available option.
I will keep my eyes open for the pcd-47b or the IISDMC card reader but until then I will continue to use my zip drive and hard drive.
Thanks!

microtech pcd-40 and 47b's pop-up on ebay all the time. The trouble is winning the auction. just be patient, watch ebay, and I promise you'll have one between 2-3 months.
