Turntables and Vinyl necessary for MPC1000?

hey yall, ive been thinkin about gettin a 1k for a while, and on youtube, i know alot of people put some vinyl on their turntables to put samples on their mpc. i THINK ive also seen people use their computers to transfer samples to the MPC. i have a Mac iBook G4 and was wonderin if its possible to put samples onto my MPC strait from the computer. if so, what do i need in order to do this. also, what are the advantages/drawbacks of gettin samples from your computer vs turntables

all you need is a usb cord, and you can transfer files from your computer to your flash card. thats what im doing as of right now, but when i get enough dough up, im going vinyl.

why would you want to upgrade to vinyl tho? is the sound quality better or what? also, ive noticed different colored MPC1000s like all black, or blue and red. is the only difference between them the color, or does one color represent an earlier type of version?

well obviously, something fresh off a vinyl will not be as compressed and loose as a .wav you downloaded off the internet. And digging for shit is half of the fun, homie. Ive never seen the red mpc, but i own the black one. I bought it it three days ago. And I dont know if its just a style thing, and an upgraded thing, someone who has more knowledge will have to answer that one for you, maxey.

I dont agree with that at all. To each your zone... I have found some really good samples on the internet... Im an internet freak and I love computers so its only natural that i beast the web for samples.... dont get me wrong i love vinyl and own some myself but i go by any means neccessary to get the music i need.....cd's, old tape casettes, web, vinyl..
why confine yourself to one type of sampling media???

Do you need one? You can get buy with just transfering samples off your computer or even running audio outs out you computer into your MPC like I do sometimes.

Should you evetually get one? Yes. even with all the sample music avail online I go out and dig every weekend for the experience the, the journey and to interact with people.

one is red and blue the other is black. Other than that there is not much difference. The red and blue one was the "original" and the black models are "newer" but they function the same.

i heard that the blue ones might have worse pads, i dont remember when the recall or whatever was...


on the other thing, you can get some stuff off of viynl you cant get off of cd's cause they never made a cd of that record.

also vise versa.

some people say viynl sounds warmer too, and cd's are too clean. thats a whole nother story
