I buy whatever I come across and that I'm feeling. Sometimes some weird shit that is very interesting but not easy listing or for sampling, sometimes just nice tunes to listen to, sometimes just sounds. I buy whatever I like basically.

there is no method to my madness.
last week, i went diggin twice. 1st time i spent $120 on about 10 records, mostly soul stuff that i like listening to---with minimal intent to sample from these records. when i got home, i realized i spent way to much money at 1 shot for my own personal listening pleasure, that the following day i went out and bought $30 worth of records from the dollar bin, strickly for sampling.
it all depends on where im shopping and what the shop has for sale.

my ears are open 24/7 so whatever i hear goes in, and if i like it, i just might consider sampling.

when im diggin for records, sometimes im lookin for a specific genre or w.e, other types just cool covers, other times i get to listen before i pick them up and obviously pick the ones i like.

I feel like a lot of cats who are true diggers look over those joints in their rush to get to the some played-out, over sampled Temptations record or some ****.

NO it's just good muisc is allthe fact that it's been sampled is a plus to me, cause it then makes me think of the song that sampled it and vise versa.

check out my yahoo group i got some records you like

hahah ... I meant to say "cats you AREN'T true diggers" - I just meant every starts with the soul joints when they first get into this, then they expand. I just bought a heap of Stax 45's for a buck a piece yesterday... it was like someone cleaned out their jukebox. Staples Singers, Isaac Hayes, Sam and Dave... all sitting right there. It was like "yup I want that. Yup that too. Yeah. Whoa wtf? These are all good records!" I love when that happens... makes my job easy!!! :D

I also copped supertramp after hearing people talk about it for so long... I get it now. :D

When diggin for samples.. sometimes you find gems on records which you will never know if you wouldn't diggin, in term of music not just meat for new beat, you know.. and it's good music to just listen & enjoy.. If it got hot ish to sample it's even better
