Used a 2000XL for some years, and after using the 3000 alot its not that much faster, just a real tiny bit. Because when you trim on the 3000 a lot you get a good sense of it all after some while. Now I can dial up pretty close to where I want in no time by just dialing in big numbers, and then I'll get it sharp in no time with the jog wheel and the sample pitched down.

It took a lot longer in the beginning tho. But for me there is no way the XL will get another minute of my time again: the 3000 deserves it all.

Deck wow the 3000 is that much better sounding huh? I had a 2000xl for like 18 months.

1 - It did sound thin to me. cant really explain it but it did, almost like if the snare had a aluminum/metalic sounding coat to it, i know it makes no sense but it did only when layering snare. And yes I know how to layer and NEVER had a sounding snare like with the asr-10.

2 - The ability to read .WAV were USELESS!!!! I tested it over 400 times from pc ( floppy ) to mpc. 60% of the time i got garbled when trying to load. 40% of the time the hi-hats that sounded great on the PC sound high as shit to the point not able to use.

3 - the built was ok, dont like the hollow feel to it but not bad.

why? READ .WAV? Just sample bro. what ever is in your pc or cd, just sample it. the wav reading on the mpc 2000xl were awful useless as the bit reducer.
