mpc 500 with mpc 4000 are friends?? :)

hello, in my studio i have an mpc 4k, i am thinking to buy a 500, so when i am out to make my shit job i have time to experiment, i can sample a lot of sound in my studio and then entertain my outside....but....
when i return in my studio, ...i can transfer all my job, my ideas, in my 4000 exactly or there is a lot of job to do ?

oh...yet i have founded the info i searched....but....
how i can connect the mpc500 with the 4k...there is a direct solutions?
for example....to save sample from the 4k to the 500...?

go to akaipro.com site, wen u look under mpc500 and its specs it should say wut is and isnt compatible with the other mpc's. the 500 got a usb port to transfer sounds and midi files to a computer if u wanna transfer things that way, its a definite. but as far as easier?.... the 500 uses a compact flash card, i dont know if the 4000 uses that to just easily switch the card from the 500 to the 4000, that would be awesome, but i dont think the 4000 got compact flash drive right? regardless, usb would work. just check that site under the 500 specs to see.

the pgm files might not work out too well due to the 4000 having more pads.
i know ive tried to load mpc1000 pgm's on my 500 and it's really funny. goes from a dilla-esque sound to a glitch-hop sound. all the pad assignments get moved around.

Unfortunately the MPC4000 won't load programs or sequences from the MPC500. I wanted to do the when I had both machines. It just didn't work, so you might as well be using 2 different products from 2 different companies.

Which also means it won't load MPC1000 or MPC2500 files either.
