Yessss.. i hope your feelin the title for starters.
I posted a little while ago cus i was havin problems with my samples overlapping.. i do use the mute off but when im varyin my melodies an blastin the note repeat sometimes i simply dont have enough options to cancel off my ish unless your some kinda 'note off' ninja which i aint... this was really restricting my creativity and i was even seriously considerin choppin in my 2000xl for a 1000 cus you can mute off the whole program as far as im aware.
i did get feedback to my original post which was to set up another program but to be honest at 3am when im tryin to perfect the sound im far from a scientist an tryin to remember what program does what does my wig in.. esp if i need a few to do what im tryina do.
Anyways... i figured out suttin which might be of use... ive broken it down simple for the novice users to follow so i apologise it the steps seem tedious.
1. find an empty pad.
2. program the same sample to it as the one ur tryin to chop jus so it makes sense in params cus things can get confusing.
3. set up the mono an mute off to your new pad to cancel off your desired note.
4. go to the mixer an turn down the pad til its silent.
I come across the overlapping problem mosty when ive structured everything into a song cus the sample jus spills over into the next sequence... i thought about jus choppin the sample better but i found it would mash up my other sequences... anyways........
5. figure out where the overlapping occurs.
6. then simply hit your silent pad at the start of the next sequence or wherever it gets all messy for ya... job done the note mutes.
Using this method gives me so much more freedom now as i can literally have as many mute offs as i got free pads... why didnt i think of this before?
