1mb DD disks???

I found alot of places selling 1 mb dd/ds disks... would those be ok for teh mpc60 ?? on the FAQ link.. none of the links work anymore about the 720k disks...

it has 2hd in the picture but i emailed them as well as imation.. and they both said its dd/ just like in the description but its 1mb.... so im confused.. heh


i know it formats to 720k anyways... but i guess as long as its DD/DS and not HD..... it wont ruin the drive over time im guessing???

it wont ruin the drive using hd disks , it just means the disk is able to be writen two on both sides of the disk. The mpc60 only reads one side and it will just use one of the two. Wont do any harm to the drive.

Everybody and their mama on here says they swear it ruins the drive to use HD disk but I never had any problems.

Personally, I've been using DS/DD. I found a lot of 43 unused discs on ebay for $10+$10 shipping, and also got about 15 at work for free. You can probably find a similar price on ebay. But according to the FAQ on Linn's site, the other posts are correct--you can use HDs w/o problems:

yea i just bought a 100 made by imation.... for 50 bucks... 50 cents a disk isnt that bad i guess....

and i think the 1mb are the same as 720k.. since all the listings of them list both sizes as "720k/1mb" so you just can format accordingly i guess.... but they are ds/dd as well....
