depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you got the money, get the Motif.

well, if your money is tight..you can get a rack version hooked into a midi controller (if you have a controller)...

personally, i think keyboards of that nature are worth it, b/c 1 - it's industry standard type of keyboard and 2 - they got some nice good sounds in em.

not sure if there any stock cds for motifs tho'

I just bought myself a MOTIF ES6 for 600 and a half ounce of herb and I am totally stoked on it! I say forget the sound set CDs and get yourself the real deal keyboard.

Are there any big diffrnces from ES6 to a XS6 motif keyboard?

I'm not sure what all the big differences are. One thing I am sure of is that the XS has a larger wave rom which is 355MB compared to 175MB on the ES. There is a pretty good motif forum that can address all your motif questions.

get a neko or a miko from openlabs.com. the future of production very well maybe with this piece of equipment. it aint the end all, but you can do a lot without feelin like you gotta get rid of your mp like so many people try to say you'll eventually have to do to keep up with the computer age. it goes for like a standard 37 key short board for around $3k. but you get a windows based computer and all kinds of abilities to do a lot. my boy got one, and once you know how to use it, it can be a valuable tool because of all it can do and it is all in one. you can also clone other keyboards or sound modules. check out their website. I suggest anyone who has an mp that wants to get into more computer stuff, get one. You can load up your cubase or reason or whatever you use. its a cool tool.
