Iomega 250...?

will this work with the 3000?i can't seem to get mine to format or read the zip disk or anything.any help?

Then your zip disk or your zip drive is bad.

i had an iomega 250 mb zip drive that worked with my mpc 60 when i had it

if its a parallel port it wont work
you need a SCSI port on the back of it

look,i know this is a bad picture,but this is what the back of my iomega 250 looks like. the (2) vertical switches in the middle read.(right side)-top to bottom--scsi id,6,5....and (left side)- top to bottom, termination,off-0,on-1.....the left 25 pin is a ZIP and the right has a symbol over it.any help?how do i hook this up to my mpc?[/img]

occasionally, my 3000 will stop recognizing my zip drive. I switch the scsi id on the back of the drive from 5 to 6. the mpc will usually recognize it once or twice, then stop again. i then switch back to 5, and it will be good like that for months until I have to go through the process again. no idea if this is normal though, but works for me.

The termination switch should always be set to 6!

Take a SCSI cable from the port marked [ZIP] to the SCSI port of your MPC


Switch the MPC on and press the [DISK] button
Press button [9] [copy,format,other]
Press button [4] [SCSI STATUS]
choose SCSI id [5] and then press Soft Key [1]
