make a Timberland type beats on mpc?

I own a mpc 2000XL and I wanna know if I'm capable of making beats similar to Timberland's. I like that techno sounds.

Or do I have to buy another hardware to work wit my mpc in order to do so?

Although if you don't have confidence in sampling other sounds apart from drums then you could invest in a sound module/software synths and perhaps a midi keyboard....

Do a little bit of research online on various set-ups that work with the MPC.

Buy a synth like a MicroKorg or the Korg R3. Those are decently priced. You can also spend about 2 stacks to get a fully blown synth workstation like a v-synth gt.

Make sure you have max ram as you'll want to do a lot of sampling... then just find someone's obscure bedroom work, dump the entire track in your MPC and layer some crud vocals over the top.
It's not hard to be a pro producer when you have a sampler to do the work for you.

It's a monster!

It will give you the sound I think you're looking for but you have to build it yourself. It is based on the synthesizer chip from a Commodore 64. You can buy a prebuilt model (not sure of the name) but it will cost you about $1,400 as far as I know. Timbaland often uses one of these.

Edit: The name of the prebuilt model is sidstation, you can also prchase a soundcard version known as hardsid, which is controlled using software.

just download the Timbo-lizer.
it's a patch for your mpc.
there is also the dilla-lizer and the alche-mixer. you might want to check that out.

Timberland steals, so just steal his samples, and your set.
