i posted this alot on this forum

that my mpc when i load sounds into it after like 5 minuts

a hiss follows my sounds after there done playing or even when im **** around on the pads just to get ideas

i just recently ran into some 8 bit sounds i found on the internet and these sounds have the same exact hiss my samples or wav files have after only using my mpc for 5 minutes sometimes it doesnt do it at all

now i know that you can choose to sample from a source via record player

or scsi drive and you can choose either 8 bit or 16 bit


now when you load your sounds into the 2000 from floppy does it play the 8 bit version of the sample automatically or does it play the samples true version 16 bit

is there a preset i have to choose

or did i just get sold a bunk ass mpc


cause it does it every time

i havnt tryed to make beats with it yet or sequence anything cause of this hiss or not a hiss like fuzz happens when i play it and when the sample ends playing it fuzz's then no more fuzz

if there was some way i could record my mpc to show you the fuzz and what i mean


or could it possibly be that im using headphones

and the sounds are coming out different and hissed and fuzzed cause im listening to my mpc straight through it with headphones

Yes. eb 16 and ib-m208p 8 outs can go into 2000 and 2000xl as well.

By the way:

When you load samples from floppy, mpc doesn't change their bit depth. If they are 8 bit, it will play them as 8 bit.

Try using full stops and commas, it will make your posts more clear.

As for the hiss/fuzz issue, you can in fact record outputs of mpc into your pc soundcard and put it on a server as mp3 so we can download it and check, hear the problem ourselves.

8 bit is gonna be gritty and probably have hiss or static at the end. Sample in 16 bit and it'll be perfectly clear! Convert that same sample to 8 bit and you'll hear that same hiss or static at the end your talking about.
