operating system question

hey,let me see if i understand this the right way.(maybe not,kinda new to all this).if i update my operating system with a floppy disk, do i have to do that at the start of every time i turn the 3k on? i ask because i just did that with mine( went from 3.08 to 3.16) i inserted the floppy and turned it on,everything went fine.i cut it off and back on to check it and it was back to 3.08.how do i get the new version to stay on my mpc for good.i heard something about some ram chips or something.i dont know.im lost with this one.

do they have rom chips for other OS upgrades besides the 3.50?and if so where do i buy them at?

I think Rohan has some 3.16 but why would you want that you should jsut get the 3.50 Valixi it is so worth it.

well i was only asking because if i get the 3.50 i would get the best version of it,and its like 320$ without shipping.dont get me wrong i am eventually going to get it because i hear nothing but good things about it,i just dont have the money to spend on that right now.im just looking for some in-expensive ways to upgrade my mpc for right now.

Other then that upgrade the only other thing you can get is VGA and that's hard to find.

well there is also the ram issue,and zip drives,hard drives,button replacement issues,pad replacement issues,lcd replacement issues.....etc...my goal when all is said and done is to gut most of the mpc and replace evrything i can with the newest parts i can find. i want to basically have a new mpc 3000 when im done.

Oh well that's different then if you need to do all that or want to do all that it's gonna cost around $300-500.

wow, how much did you pay for your 3k? sounds like you got got.

It needed alot of work this 3000 wasn't even in working condition and It wasn't me who spent all the money it was my friend.

it sounds like you/ your friend bought a non-functional/ janky 3k if you have to replace/ upgrade all those parts. i hope you get it up and running at minimal cost.

lol......lol.....naw,i was just saying that i eventually want to replace all those parts with brand new ones.my mpc works great.not a thing wrong with it.
