Is it me ?????????

Sup 4000 fam,

Just got my new mpc 4000 yesterday and was sampling some records, during this process i was editing the samples and was monitering this throgh my headphones when i got the loudest " snap, crackle and pop" straight to the brain man.

Anyhow i was wondering, was it me messing around with the samples that caused this or is the phono connections really sensitive, everythign was tightly secured at the rear panel as i checked this straight away.

Im just worried incase theres actually something wrong with my connections or me doing something incorrect with the samples im editing caused this.

P.s. How the hell do i adjust the screen, the manual doesnt mention it at all.

A crackle in your playback could mean you have a bad memory chip. What were you doing when it happened?

When you mean "adjust" do you mean CONTRAST? If so its knob to the right of the screen labled, um.. "contrast"

has this just happend once?mmmm, maybe u turned high gain on while still in rec page, maybe u made ur loop points to tight,is ur turntable grounded?.or mem probs as ddot said

i think he means change the angle of the screen ?,my bros was well stif when he got his 4k,just pull it up square with both hands

If you had the gain too high or hit the high low button while there was a snap crackle pop on your vinyl, that would do it too!. Does it do the snap crackle pop on the same spot of the vinyl everytime you run it through?

Yeah it was when i was messing about with the samples, hopefully it was a one off and possibly something to do with the gains or a poor connection.

1. dont use a dj mixer cause 4k has its own pre , or turn it low
2. dont engage that little button i think it says db cut or somethung like that
3. use high quality styli/catridge and if possible a 1200

Well the same stuff was happening all the time, and eventually there was no sound coming from the headphone socket at all so ive returned it to Turnkey and there sending out a new one. But typically it will get to there service department and it will work fine.

it must have been a loose solder connnection on the phones board....that could replaced easy. Too bad they couldn't send you the part...it would have been much quicker..... so were you getting any noise through the main outs on the back?
