MPC with softsynths

I have MPC 2000 and want to use Softsynths. I'd like to play my drums on the MPC but use the drum sounds from my computer(not the MPC). Also Play softsynths from a midi-controller. Is this setup possible?

yes and no, some vsti you cant play without host app. vsti from native instruments do not need a host app (there are a few more). you could download chainer which is a vsti host app (free/demo) and then all you need a half desend computer, desend soundcard (multi out for multi vsti) and midi interface, you are set.
