i just discovered this.. i loaded a 124 mb. stereo wave sample into my mpc, then i converted it to mono and it was 59 mb i think.. i then made a new copy of it converted to 12 bit and then deleted the original one. Now it says i have insufficient memory, but i only have a 60 mb sample in it.. no more. Did i do something wrong or is it a bug ?

edit: oh and yes i have 128 mb ram in this mother..

Why are you loding such Huge samples into your MP? I'd use a DAW for anything bigger than 32 Mb. I definitely had problems like that when I was overloading my old MPC 2k...

I dunno if that's a bug or not, but you are definitely trippin' for loading such a gigantic sample

what could you possiby need a 12 minute sample for? that's no longer really "Sampling" at that point

i loaded a 102 mb file recently, just cuz i had recorded 2/3rds of a record to put on my laptop to listen to but in doing so found a nice sample.

rather than opening audacity in my laptop i just grabbed the whole bastard, snipped out what i wanted and discarded the rest.

i don't think i've ever juggled 2 monster waves. i suggest breaking it down early into somewhat manageable pieces...sounds like a bug though, the "sleeping giant"
