Sampling Records in Cool Edit Pro 2.0

Can Cool Edit Pro preserve the sound of a song recorded from a record? If not what would one need to preserve the sound?

what do you mean preserve the sound? like restoring audio?

If you are talking about using cool edit to preserve the sound of a vinyl recording, I don't think it's that cut and dry. A lot would have to with your needle, computer sound card, mixer etc.....

It all depends on what your final output. If it's for club, mixtapes and podcast that you can maybe get by. But for your iPod... you have to make sure that all your recording devices are top quality.

i mean, it records and saves what goes into it. if you sample a sh!tty record with dirt and stuff, then it will pop and sound grimey. if you record a nice clean record then thats what you'll get. i always use audition to sample and record.

if you get your level right and record at the best possible bit depth and save to .Wav 16bit. it will sound exactly the same as it does through your speakers.

Things like needle, sound card will change the sound but you will still capture what you hear.
