replacement buttons

while doing a memory upgrade i just broke my shift button!

must be cheap to replace them?

they must have a warranty for this kind of shit so they must be able to send me some out if i send them some money.. since mine is an old school xl

the number and shift buttons ect look pretty much the same size and shape as the mpc 2500

i dont think they make 2000xls anymore, they arent listed on the akai pro site

even if they can send me a set of 2500 number buttons, that'd be ok.. they're just a different colour.. might even end up making my 2000xl look abit funky you never know

but either way when they get back to me ill let cunts know so they can do the same if they want new buttons

I'd take off the cursor cap and make sure the actual switches soldered to the board work properly. If not you need to replace those as well. If it's just the cap, that's nothing. If it's the switches....I just spent like 50 bucks for 4 brand new ones, a new cap and the shipping from VST. Doing a write up on the repair for the board here in a few days.

what i really mean is how much use has it had...

im beginning to wonder if my pads will last much longer.. theyre starting to lose sensitivity a bit... and glitch sometimes... i use full level a lot just because im a little weary

i thought the xl would be a brickhouse, depending on how well the last person looked after it (it arrived in good condition)

but not so sure...

I have a classic and a 2500. The classic is an ancient one that wasn't exactly taken care of prior to me getting it, but it's fully decked out minus the smpte card that I really have no use for anyway. Since it's got all the options, I decided to bring her back to life one piece at a time. I'll probably end up replacing damn near everything on it by the time I'm finished, but in the meantime I still use it chained to my 2500.

The cursor buttons are typically one of the first things to go on MPCs, because you use them so much.

These things will take some serious abuse, but just like with anything, you've gotta do some basic repairs and take care of them to prolong life.

Hell if I could find a 60 for a decent price, and an XL, I'd restore every one of em back to full health and have a lil army of MPCs just cuuuuuz
