Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

hey how do you cut off a sound when i hit a pad, like if i hit a pad and its playing a sample and then hit another pad it cuts off that sample. lol it sounds confusing but maybe somone will understand what im saying

turn the "poly" option to "note off" in the program parameters (bottom right side)

This is not what he is asking....He wants to cut off a sample by hittin another pad....You can set this up in the params by hitting "Open Window" while "poly" is highlighted!!!!

note off makes the sample triggered as long as you keep the pad pressed down. What you probably want is to change the polyphony to 1 (i.e. hit pad A once, listen to the sound, then trigger pad B and pad A stops right away). Change the polyphony on every pad on interest from poly to mono from the program screen (shift+program)->params->down right corner.

switchin poly to mono will make pad A cut pad A off if retriggered but not pad B or any other pad for that matter, so in other words it wil make any pad cut ITSELF off, not other pads....

like LaJProd said, you have to go into the mute assign screen to do this....
