whats up?
is it at all possible to shift the timing of an event so it happens slightly b4 the firs beat of the bar, but still be able to copy that bar to another part of the sequence, and not be missing the fist note?

i know in logic this can be done, they call it delay, but u can set it to a negative value so it the midi event occurs earlier

can this be done on the MPC 1000 JJ OS or do i gotta keep copying that one event?

hope i was clear
thanks

if you shift the timing of an event so that it moves to before the first beat of a bar, it ceases to be in that original bar and would not be moved if you copied that original bar, so your answer is that you'd have to go back and copy that one event.

A way around this would be to move everything else later by a few ticks and put the earliest sound exactly on beat 1 on a different track.
could be a bit annoying if you have to do it to loads of tracks though.
