Premo doesn't sample in the MPC 60II, he just sequences on it and does all his sampling on the Akai s950.

I think the Black Moon stuff was made mostly on SP1200, s950, and MPC 3000. actually i dont even think Evil Dee used the 3000, think it was just Mr Walt using it. I think the early De La Soul stuff was made mostly on the sp1200, s950, and some other tools... cause I read in some interview with the homie Prince Paul that he first picked up a mpc three or four years ago(interview was 2004-06). though somewhere I heard Trugoy aka Dave uses the 60II, i don't know how true that is. and for some reason i think ATCQ was made on a sp1200. it could be 60 but for some reason i just think it was made on a sp lol

I think most of the classic old hiphop beats were done on an sp + 950. Way more than with an mpc60 somewhere in the setup.
