any1 got pros and cons of different synths, thinkin of gettin a Korg MS 2000 , or mayb a MiniMoog for dem Dre sounds? What analogue synths give good bass sounds?

Roland Juno 106 is THE Shiz.....Hands down! Moog is wicked too, but is monophonic and will go out of tune constantly because it uses voltage controlled ossilators. You can get a Juno 106 for half the price of a Moog. [/i]

Well, the Juno uses voltage controlled filters and they go out of tune. Have you tuned your filters lately?

The Juno 106 uses analog ossilators but they are digitally controlled. Thats why it can recall different sounds without moving the faders. You can tune the 106 with the 'Tune' knob on the back of the keyboard. Get your facts strait before you step up.

the 106's DCO's aren't the reason it can recall patches, it is the digital patch memory. there are plenty of VCO synths that have patch memories. VCO's go out of tune, but not worse than guitars ;)

the 106 is cool, but it's no mini for bass. the midi does make it a great compliment to an MPC, I'd probably go with an se1 or the ms2000 if on a budget.

Juno 106 are very good for bass sound not as the mini moog but it depends what you want, it got 6 voices and the pads are wonderfull, very rich sounding and the best of all you can get one for 300-400 usd, but it has its own sound and if you want to sound diffrence then by a va synth like acccess virus, nova krs4, korg ms2000 and sure they are more flexible but they don´t have the soul and power in the sounds, so if you want warm and rich sounding synth for bass and lead sound look at oberheim, moog, roland jupiter-8, prophet 5 and so on, go in to www.vintagesynth.com and look for your self

Check the Akai AX60. Nice alternative to the Juno, and it has a re-tune function.

any idea what hi tek n premo use 4 there bass sounds when it aint a sample? i heard prem use the ms 2000?

Just got a Novation KS5. Superb sounds and 4 part mulit timbral. I'm new to synths but spent a lot of time listening and reading before going for this. And its got a Vocoder

Just getting used to working with it and the MPC but it seems sweet.

juno 106 is a wonderful machine, very easy to edit and the first synth ever to implent midi from scratch. i think. though it has nothing to do with a mini. if you want the moog sound, get a moog prodigy and retrofit it with midi. sounds brilliant and is alot cheaper than the mini, but keep in mind that the variety of sounds you will get out of it is very limited. absolutely mind blowing synthie from the oldschool: roland jupiter 4, i happen to have one with midi, absolutely sick bass. everything from roland that has "sh" or "jupiter" in its name is good or great, but generally overpriced. one of my favourites from the old school: korg polysix or mono/poly, both also tend to be abit expensive, especially the mono/poly, but boy, do they sound good...think electro, tangerine dream etc. from the new virtual-analogues the nord modular is my favourite, they are getting cheaper now i think because the os is not going to be updated anymore. the best sounding virtual around, period. plus there´s no way you´re going to explore this unit to the max throughout your lifetime. about 20.000 patches for it on the net. the ms 2000 is good, for some things even excellent and is also around now for not alot of cash. good interface to edit, too. the new microkorg has the same engine built in, if you´re in it for bass only, check this machine out, because it sounds awesome, especially if you see it you just can´t believe it. there´s people around saying it sounds even better than the ms 2000. as a first synth it´s probably going to be beautiful, though not as intuitive to edit as the ms 2000, and the keys are of course not so good. as for soft synths, it`s basically down to native instruments plus a few contenders. NI absynth is the best sounding softie around in terms of originality, unbelieveable pads and drones and basses, cold and unique. fm 7, dynamo and the b4 are great too. hope this could help, i love synths...

got any idea how the new minimoog voyager compares 2 da original?

nope. i have never seen one in reality and i don´t know anybody who has one. all i know is that it looks very nice and costs almost as much as a hartmann neuron. since i recently bought me the mpc 4k (which is also about the same price i guess) that kind of money is going to be way out of my league for some time to come...
but again i have to say: if you had the opportunity to simultaneously compare a mint prodigy for about 500 $ to a voyager or mini, both sent through a decent reverb, you would probably think twice about the extra 2500 $. that is, if money is an issue to you...
