Midi sync with cubase sx

I really wanna hook up my mpc 1000 with my cubase using midi in and out through my lexicon lambda soundcard .. i have put the midi cables in and i have changed the sync settings on the mpc and i have tried du find some settings in cubase too but i just cant get it to connect .. there is no peak in cubase when i hit the pads or anything .. anybody have some ideas or have tried this ?

Just to be clear midi is not audio...

what version of cubase sx are you using? and you should have the snyc settings in the transport bar on fixed.

also in the sync menu, have the output midi signal coming out the right midi connection and the turn off the send signal option at the bottom right of the menu, then go to MODE PAD9 to turn on the midi channel and choose MIDI TIME CODE, and put MMC on.

all should work fine.

dont reply back asking what i said, cause my answer is based on the fact you know something of your gear. if you dont i suggest doing some manual reading. (no disrespect or be-little'ing intended, its just that a man must always learn all he can on his own before reaching out, i say this cause no one taught me shit, i taught my damn self!)

Listen .. if you think you are so good and you have had a rough time learning and stuff and dont want to help people then why the **** are you on a forum ? i have also learned everything by myself buti dont cry about i, and when i have been working on the same **** problem for days then i reach out for help .. and thats what i did ..

I have tried all you wrote there before you even posted it but it is still not working .. i know my gear very well but this particular problem i just cant solve .. so either you help me or you shut the **** up ...

By the way i use sx3 ..

I belive this is a problem that alot of us are sitting with...

I've had my MPC1000 working fine with my Cubase for quite some time. but after I got the paid version of JJOS I've had some problems with it. I don't know if it's because I also chanced to Vista (I dout it).

Still trying to work out my problem - and when I find the answer I'll post it ASAP

try it out on another non vista computer to check...i reckon its vista that is the problem

Im sorry , im not answering that way normal but i cant stand people who is talking down to other people that way ? I mean if he is so good and dont want to help then why be on a forum?

Your question showed a lack of understanding of basic terms (or maybe i got it wrong) so that might be why he added that last paragraph, but his answer itself was on point. It seems like you only read the last sentence of his post so your reply seemed kinda rude.

But whatever, heres how i set it up (there are different possibilities though):

On the Mpc: Go to Sync, turn sync in off, out to AB. Mode Midi Time Code, Frame rate 30, MMC On

In Cubase (SX2): Transport -> Sync settings, choose Midi Timecode as Source, activate MMC, choose the appropriate Midi Inputs for MMC and MTC, press OK. Now activate sync by pressing T (or click on Sync on the transport bar so it says "idle", or have "sync activated" checked in the transport menu)

Now press Play on the MPC, Cubase should play along.

Exact wordings might differ cos my cubase is set to german.

maybe he is just sensitive.... who knows....

but i agree with the comment made earlier about since JJOS came out the snyc settings do require a differnet setup as I myself had issues with with getting sx3 to sync correctly especially when its been working already now since JJ it stopped.

but since its so simple to see whats going on i simply experimented and got it working.... "experimented" being the key word here.

anyway like i said before no offence, i just happen to view technical things differently from most people, i dont see it as hard i see it as any other thing in life. you just need to keep it simple....and dont get sensitive!!

I followed these steps and my MPC xl says waiting for midi time code. But when i press play on the cubase sx3, it'll sync. Any ideas?
