SCSI CABLE CONNECTIONS

I need to know what type of SCSI cables I need to buy to hook up my from my "CD-ROM Drive to the ZIP Drive and then the ZIP Drive to my MPC2000". I need to know by today please email me the info so I can go ahead and get these. FLOPPY DISKS suck. [email protected]

I've found one of these in the house with no data cable or power cable.



Will this work with my MPC 2000XL?

It only has a 25 pin port labelled 'Zip' and another port with the symbol of a printer above it.

If it can, what leads do i need to get and where do i get them?

If it can't, where can i get the right Zip drive? (or memory card reader)

that is a parallel port drive.

it will not work on your mpc

Thanks a lot - both really helpful. They seem to be quite hard to find even on eBay but a lot easier to find than internal memory card readers that will be compatible. Am on the case. Cheers.

Folks are making custom SCSI cables these days as there are at least 4 different connectors in use......

I am really baffled

So i've ordered a SCSI Zip drive BUT it doesn't come with a lead.

I have a SCSI lead from my MPC 2000XL to my CD rom drive - will it work on the Zip drive?

This is a photo of it at the part that goes in the back of the CD drive...

Thats a 50 pin Centronics SCSI plug.

You will need a cable with a 50 pin centronics on one end and a 25 pin (D-sub) on the other end to go from the CD drive to the 25 pin port on the zip drive

I've been given two plastic jumpers with my Microtech 47B but i don't know where to put them. There are two lots of 8 pins (one set in the middle horizontally, and one set on the right vertically) - does anyone know where i put the 2 plastic jumpers?

You will find that info in the manual for the drive....If it is the last drive in the SCSI chain you need to enable the terminator....

Thanks, i'm not really a techy person so find the manual really baffling.

I have an external SCSI CD drive - does that mean when i swap the floppy internal drive with the card reader that the internal card reader will be the last one in the chain?

I don't know how to enable the terminator - i'm not confident enough that i would do it right without some help off someone on here. That diagram doesn't help me at all.
