Feature Request: Simple Arpeggiator

arpeggiator

when you hit shift plus note repeat or something like that. It would be effected by swing settings and you could pick from up, down, alt, random, etc. and 1/8 1/16th

Or if you could assign basic arp patterns to pads.

Also the mpk49 has an arpeggiator on it, so it can be done. I just dont want to have to buy that!

I found this really cool standalone arpeggiator. I recommend seeking one out.

You can record the midi data into the mp, then edit, swing, offset whatever you want.

The 2 best ones to seek out are the oberheim cyclone (what i have) and the MAM map 1. Both have been discontinued for a while but they still pop up all the time.

Maybe also give the Q-Links the ability to speed up the arp or increase or decrease resolution in real-time.

i still pretty badly wish there were an option to either set it to toggle or momentary, instead of having to use shift and have it shut off when editing anything

TBH, the 2500 is a sequencer and therefore an arpeggiator as well.

I understand what you want tho', but you can achieve this with simple saved midi sequences or smf files you can load that will trigger sequences.

Thge problem with builtin arpeggiators is that they are heavily reliant on note lengths, note ons and offs, and with a sampler like the 2500 you would have to have precise start/end points and so on.
If you wanted to trigger external sounds in arpeggiator mode then that's certainly more interesting but comes down to the 2500 being a glorified arp anyway.

I would prefer to see some user definable note repeat tools. Maybe the ability to select a different Q resolution to the master clock, maybe to have a 'flam' function, note reverse and so on.
This would make it a 'live' dream.

im thinking to trigger external gear, not so much for internal samples.
