Floppy Drive gives me only a flashing orange light

While starting my 2000 via Floppy Disk the drive gives me a flashing orange light and a scraping noise-the screen says:Disk error............
I tried another system disk,nothing changed....
Anybody with the same problem?

If you have an external ZIP, put the OS on it and you can boot from that.

But agreed, your floppy probably bit it.

try downloading the os from akai's website then put it on a new floppy on your computer then put it in the mpc if it dont work ur drive is shot rip one outta an old shitty computer and replace it
