effects thru 8 outs

Sorry if this is remedial, but I can't figure out how to get my effects to send to the 8 outs. They work through the mains, but when I use the individual outs, I gets no effects. Is there a way to send the effects to your 8 outs? If there is, it would save me a lot of frustration. Thanks.
