2000XL Internal ZIP

I have a 2000XL with an internal zip. I tried loading and playing a program but when I hit [F6] To Do It and then [F3] Clear the loading window comes up and starts to load. BUT......then it stops and tells me "not enough memory". What the hell does it mean not enough memory. Keep in mind I'm loading from the internal zip with the MPC Sound Library zip disk. Where am I running out of memory...on the MPC or the Zip disk?

the mpc is out of mem you need to get some mem homie.

sounds like the mpc doesnt have enough memory installed......... What is your current memory level?

It's brand new.....I just started using it. This is my first time trying to load a program. I haven't heard a sound out of it yet.
It reads:

File: Ambience 1 2k

Free Memory
Snd 16k
Seq 2640k

Is my @#$% broke or what..........

yo in sample mode hit OPEN WINDOW. It will tell you what you got. 32 mbs is the max. On phats sig there is a link for mem

I hit the open window in sample mode and it says I have 2 Megabytes installed. Is this just for sampling or for the whole MPC? Free memory time is 10.9 sec

yeah man u cant do d*** with 2mbs. Go and cop the 32 and save the headache. You will run out of space and samplin time right quick

Yeah I did some more reading on it and right now I'm not about to make @#$% happen with 2MB. You have to excuse me seeming lost as a mutha..... but this is my first MPC and I didn't realize I was going to have to go through all this. I will definitely cop that 32MB. Do you have any suggetions on which memory to buy? How easy is it to install??? Appreciate the advice!!!!

I do a lot with 1.5 Mb's, but then again, that's the max on my machine and I have auxillery samplers.

yeah, but a 2kxl without 32mbs is like peanut butter and no jelly.

That's whut Im sayin', you gotta max out your machines, at least I feel this way most of the time.
