Just got an MPC 2000xl MCD but i just cant churn any beats.

i just got an XLMCD but i cant get any beats going this is my 1st machine any tips?

and get the memory upgrade asap or u won't be able to do much.

if u've got the loading of samples and assigning to pads down, then just hit record and after four clicks start hittin the kick n snare or whatever u want. when it goes thru ur bars, hit stop, back it up, press overdub + play and repeat, addin another sound

memory upgrade is essential. pm me if u want some cheaper than online outlets. i just happen to have a few extra sets from when i ordered mine.

you should build a library of sounds before you do any thing..get a cheap turntable off ebay and a couple vinyls sample some breaks and chop them bitches up make your own kits and then start sampling other instrument loops and single shots then make some sequences with that

Like any instrument, easy to buy, hard to master!

Know much about music? Know much about making stuff? You need to work on all that too. Apologies if you know this already.

If you're totally new to all this it will take some time. But not forever. Day by day it might feel so frustrating but then suddenly in 6 months time you'll look over what you've learned and be pretty amazed.

Good Advice, spend a few days and get a bunch of samples and the creative juices will flow. Peace.

na na i bought my mpc from Joey Mercy aka one of the memebers on the crew who made some beats for 50 and shit.

so its jacked up till max mem

and all that. and like i know the prossess of making a beat but its justt not really working out for me x.x

what are you used to using?

if you got the patience, give it some time and see what happen.
