Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

There's too many questions in this thread so I figured I'd start a different kind of topic (and plus I'm still rollin off the high of buying my first MPC...)

Some people talk shit about the Blue 2000XL but I really like the color. It's dark but not like a Navy Blue, it has a really deep hue, and it isn't light blue so it doesn't look all toy-ish like the original MPC 1000 (plus none of that ugly maroon accents either.) The gray 2000 will always be a classic IMO but to me that color makes it look outdated as opposed to vintage.

The Blue XL just looks more smooth. It's a sexy beast.

I like the blue but I've never liked the new Akai logo. Prefer the old one that the old Akai still use for the consumer electronics stuff.

Which logos are you talking about? If the "new logo" you're talking about is the one on the MPC 1000 (which I hate), my blue 2000xl doesn't have that logo. It has a slightly different version of the classic 2000 logo.

Yeah now that I think of it there were blue MPCs with the old Akai logo like you say. And yes by new logo I mean the "MPC1000 one".

Blue MPC with old logo, nice.

I like the blue too, though I don't own it. It makes it look quite impressive.

Now I may be in a minority here but, I also really like the Orange SE model. But
If I had that Orange sucka I would probably just stare at it all day and never get any beats done :P :D

Being a designer as well the newer logo does look kinda toy-ish (I guess it goes with the 1000 color scheme then.) The older logo looks more professional IMO. I don't think I've seen a blue 2000XL with the new (1000) logo on it. If there is one then maybe my MCD is just a 2000xl that the previous owner installed a card reader into it?...And what's up with the corny 80's looking dancing man cartoon on the boxes for the MPC 1000s?

It's all in personal opinion. I don't really care for the blue model and like the older look of the beige model. Just my opinion. I don't hate either one.

They seem different don't they? I told people on here before that the blue ones & gray ones feel different the blue ones feel slightly cheesier.

I prefer the beige one. In my personal opinion, the blue ones look cheaper than the beige ones.
