i'm kinda sick of sampling soul/funk/rnb stuff, it's way overdone, i don't think i can do it better than it's already been done.
i've found some great samples (drum loops/chops, and some good melodies) on shit you'd never think of sampleable. for example, track 1 on christian death's "only theater of pain" has a pretty good drum loop waiting to be chopped (works perfectly when you set zone to 4...keeps the whiteboy groove, just make sure the tempo's right).
a lot of lounge/exotica stuff like martin denny or perez prado has great horns and some pretty crazy loops.
also anything from alfred schnittke or GRM will yield nice violin/classical instrument sounds with an edge.
blah.
