Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

i got an z100 zip drive and i tried to hook it up to my mpc2000
i plugged it in and when it turns on the mpc sees that i got it plugged in
but when its loaded and i try to load the SCSI it says SCSI Not Ready!

do i need to like boot the zipdrive with a boot disc...and shit?

make sure termination is on...

Off the top I can think of...

termination
scsi id
parallel combo drive (which don't work at all w/ mpc's)

yea....i donno why...but i got an system boot up disc on a zip disc....

I was ganna say cause i figuered out what to do with mine. I turned on my 2000 without the operating disk and it reads the SCSI drive. It does that little count and stops at what ever number mine was 5 i dunno about yours. After that i just put the boot up disk in and when it loaded i went to disk screen and changed the device to scsi # 5 it said not ready so i popped out the disk and changed the device again. After that i put the disk back in and went to device #5 and it worked.

the start up disc in the zipdrive or the floppy?

my mpc picked up there was a zipdrive and it was 5 too.....
it started up but stil says its not ready....

try this. After loading up the 2000 pop the disk out, then go to disk screen. Then pop the disk in wait like a few seconds and switch to the device and try 5 then
