Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi i have a internal zip drive in my 2000xl, but no zip drive in my computer. I have a blank zip disk that i want to put the sounds on my computer on to it. Can i take the drive out of my mpc, then put it on my computer to put the sounds on my disk, then put the drive back into my mpc and use the disk without losing any data on it?

for goin thru all that trouble of uninstalling and installing the drive, opening and closing the mpc/computer, you might as well buy a cheap usb zip drive. then you'll have one for the computer and one for the mpc....

IMO just buy a usb zip drive.
But, you could just hook the your pc line out to the mpc, and sample your sounds.

Exactly, get another drive. I have 2 SCSI Zip 100's that I got off eBay pretty cheap (one as a backup), and hooked up to my main production PC I have a USB Zip 100 that I bougt brand new for like next to nothing. One of the drives in that PC is for storage only, and that's where all my sound libraries are. Add MPCEditor to the mix and you're good to go.

It's funny how used SCSI drives on eBay are goin for more than the newer USB drives are now.
