Will the MP-16 Pads and a PC do the job?

If I have .wav files already on my PC and I hook up some MP-16 Pads will I get the same results? I have FL Studio on my Laptop..(I may be saying it wrong, MPD-16 or something like that)...Even though it's worth the MPC 1K is worth well over $879, I want to make sure I am thinking economically...God Bless

Go and try one out in a store...for me it is a lot better than using a computer....just one instrument with dedicated buttons and no hassles, and the sequencer can do some really nice unexpected things...

I used to think you could substitute a computer for these things...but for me its just much nicer to use an mpc. My advice is go to shop and play with one for a day.

yeah man fruity loops and the pads deadly combo. You can make some serious music with that.










I AM KIDDING!!! THE PADS AND FRUITY LOOPS ARE A PRETTY WEAK PRODUCTION SETUP.

actually, and this is my opinion, but you can make some heat with fruity loops.....i understand the mans question thouroughly too...if you dont have the money to get a mpc1000, save up for it, but in the meantime, you can get some heat out of fruity loops and that pad thingy....use your imagination and you can do anything...

I've got the MPD and Reason along with Kontact and Logic and those pads on the MPD are not the same as the Pads I've tried on the MPC's in a store. They are hard unresponsive and difficult to manipulate the velocity of the sounds. I was shocked at how easy it was to loop and build rhythms on the MPC in the store. I don't own and MPC yet but I am going to get one asap. I am excited about using the 1000 with the computer though. That with Reason and Protools will be a nice set-up. Chopping up samples is so easy on a computer. My only question is how I will incoporate delay as an effect into the 1000. Will they write the damn algorithm for it or will I have to go outboard.
