Formatting Hard Drives

I know alot of you had this problem earlier, But no one has really answered my question....

I have an 80GB maxtor I know not supported, but I tried to format it full format and it went for 2 days did nothing then I formatted it Fat32 still no luck now I am back after the fat 32 to formatting it again ....


Any help>??

When it formats does it stay there and say still waiting still waiting..

first, try to "quick format" your hard drive before "full formatting" it

That's what I did on my MPC and it worked well (yet my Hard Drvie is an IBM 80GB, not a Maxtor, but a Maxtor should work)

If it doesn't work, try to format your 80GB Maxtor hard drive on your PC.
if you have a windows XP install CD (which comes with every Windows XP license, otherwise it's a cracked version), put your hard drive in your PC, plug it in, and then format it in FAT32 from the windows xp installer.


Then test your hard drive on your 4000...
