would really like to hear what people are doing with their 500's.

listening to that 'da souf' track right now. damn man, i loved all of those tracks, very creative, not too busy with your samples, subtle but severe. very very good sound. keep at it. no question you got some skill.

I appreciate the feedback and I'll let u know when I put something else up.. oh, by the way, there are no samples with the exception of the drama king promo and that was an industry rap song by jay z and beanie. I'll throw some joints up with samples soon. I'm on it!!.. holla back and send me the link to your stuff so I can listen.

that was some cool original sh** right there. i dug it. probably don't get a lot of love from these forums for that kind of style... keep doing your thing though... track sounds like music that should be in the next wes anderson movie...

That was right down my street.

Nice and original and quirky. Some nice subtle sounds too.

Sounded minimal but lots of depth and interesting processing.

I just got a 500 cheap to seq my analogue drum machines more than anything else. I'm yet to encounter 'the saving bug' etc

no doubt I will.

I though I'd hate the 2row screen...but it is actually ok to seq on.

It has had a few when copying bars etc....it wouldn't copy a 2bar section untill I rebooted one time.but I have kept it at O.S 1.10 for now.

Hope it is not gonna be too much hassle as I'm just gonna track into ableton with it mostly.

Keeo up the great sound...reminds me of some old funl/electro sound..Egyptian Emp and alike 'sexual harrasment' etc.

Are the bugs really making it a mare for you ?

You might be fine, maybe some of us just have faulty units, or bad ram. It's just the bugs where you lose hours of work that'll make you want to trash the thing. But I had high expectations, as I was trying to use the MPC500 as a complete replacement for software apps that do audio/midi multitracking. It really is just a drum machine with some fancy extras tacked on.

As long as you don't push it too hard you might never find all the bugs. Hopefully Akai will figure out what's going on, but until then I'll just change my workflow to accommodate knowing that the .ALL file from an entire memory save might not open, sequences can be replaced while doing undos, and the thing could crash when doing anything deeper than the basics.

damn. i got one of these coming in the mail. i have the 1000 but i need more mobility. like you said jamon, hope akai gets on this in the near future... even better if the jj camp did so first...
