Just curious really. Is there any difference in getting say a maxell brand zip disk instead of an iomega disk? Like build quality or they corrupt easier ect. I've only been buying iomega brand ones. Also before it's brought up,yes compact flash is better, but I'm still gonna roll with the zips.

It should make a diff......it comes down to the tape/disk on the inside, and Maxell has been making tape since before the MPC was a dream......

Fuji treated me the best of all my "back then" zip disks.

U have a xl, go cf and don't look back.

Only have a classic. The scsi cardreaders aren't as cheap as the ide from what I've seen.

It's worth it though....
It's hard to get new zips, and gambling with used ones is a bad idea. The bottom line is that Zips are time bombs, and will ...WILL... suffer the click of death eventually. There's a flaw in their design. Iomega even admitted to it. Just go flash. It's faster, and safer and in the long run probably cheaper seeing as a 1gig card can be partitioned into the equivalent of 10 100gig zips.
New Zips are about 20 bucks each, so that's 100 bucks right there. That's also $100 worth of media you won't be replacing in a year. I probably spent 200 bucks in the past 2 years on zip drives and disks. Then went CF. Forget Zips.
They're a waste of time, money, and your beats.
Friends don't let friends use Zip disks. :D

I'll switch to compact flash in about 4 months when I switch over to the xl. As for my classic right now though, I'm just sticking with zips for now.
