No headphone output after assiging outputs

I play in a live setting and the assignable outputs are very important to me. I have set them up and I use all.

I use them as follows:

1. Kicks
2. Snares
3. Hi Hats
4. Toms/Percussions
ST Left. Toms/Percussions
ST Right. Song samples and backing vocals

Now this is all good and works beautifully when coming from the mixer but if I am on the road away from a mixer and I need to do some quick programming then I have realized that only my sounds out of the ST channels can be heard in the phones. I was using an Akai 2000xl before with the same setup up and this was not the case. I hope this is not a design flaw with the 1000 and its me just doing something wrong.

I think it already got requested for hte JJ OS, mybe he can do it.

seems impossible because in the old FAQ JJ once said that the headphone output were linked with stereo outs.

Well I think we will just have to recognised it as a flaw in our beloved 1000's design. I have a temporary solution that I use though.

I have already set up all of my program files and mixed them according assigning the outputs and placed those files in the Autoload folder. Outside the autoload folder I have duplicated the same program files but only assigned them to the ST outs.

This way I can still sequence on the road using headphones with those program files outside of the folder. After I'm finished I just save the sequence files in my autoload folder.

A little more work but it is working.

I have found another way: use two Y cables and connect the 4 outs to the stereo rec ins, then set the INPUT to mono, so I dont get the sound hard panned left and right. This way you can hear in the headphones what comes out of the 4 outs.
It works fine and you dont have to mess up your program settings.

If you only use 2 outs then simple patch cables will do the job.
