Well the problem is that in the load screen, I can't get the number of partitions although I have my card reader as my default drive...

I use just one Kingston Pro 1GB CF card and have had no problems. I've heard that anything over 1GB will have issues with the 2000xl MCD drives.

i just got a 2gb pny cf card from newegg. got a good price on it. its one of the faster ones. anyway, comes up as ??? in the mp. try to format it and i get an error. im going to boot up my machine on my linux partition and try to partition the cf card into 2 1gb partitions as windows doesnt support multiple partiotions on a cf card. you can work around this by using a usb to cf adapter but i dont got one.

so, after my experiment i'll post back up here and let you know how it goes.

one thing to remember is that since windows will only see the first partition, you'll wanna load all your samples from the pc on that first partition, and then save all your work on the mp on the second partition. this way, partition 1 basically becomes your sample library and partition 2 becomes your work area for the mp.
