Saving with AK.sys

Is it me or or is saving from AK.sys a serious headache? WTF? On the 4K u save the multi and seq ur done. Why is it so difficult to accomplish this same simple task with AK. sys. It doesnt save it the same way. And why is it that u can audition samples from the MPC HD in the MPC but not from AK.sys.

Are you saving to the MPC`s HD or to your computer`s HD?


You can audition samples from Ram through Akys right?

there is no audio player is Aksys so no, you cant audition sounds in Aksys

If you wannna backup your project through Aksys, save to the HD first and then backup the entire folder to the PC

AHHH yes you can AUDITION samples from Ram using AKSYS on your 4k I do it all the time but the 4k must be on and the audio output will be from your 4k.

READ the Akys Manual page 30.

Just I`m not sure from the harddrive anyways read the manual.

I believe it's ram samples only, i'll have to try it, though, I audition all the time with aksys....but i'm sure they are samples in ram

saving with aksys isn't that difficult, what exactly are you trying to do? we may be able to help you out if you tell us your process

U can only audition samples that are loaded in ram, which is crap and defeats th purpose of having Ak.sys, if u can audition it with the 4K u shud be able to do the same with AK.sys, since no matter what the Audio is coming out of the 4K. Whats going on, why does AK.sys lack the most important features, it so limiting.

Saving from AK.sys, basically I gotta write click on the multi's folder and save to the PC, u cannot save to the MPC HD.
Then I checked the folder it created and it didnt save newly loaded samples (I added say 6 samples) but when I did the exact same operation VIA the 4K it did save them ( and no I didnt use the "new and modified option"). Simply put I do not trust saving with Ak.sys. Used th pad editor and found a few problems too, seems like they copied the MPC editor program (anyone have the site, I lost the program upon reinstalltion and gotta get it again and fix my license issue) but made it shitier.

Jazz/Haze-And it seems u cannot save it to MPC HD from AK.sys, only ur PC, and then I guess u gotta drag it to ur HD, but I wudnt advice it as it doesnt seem to be saving the same way. If u do that it wull probably overwrite ur correct version.

Is it also tru that the USB host port on the back is only for AK.sys USB connection to ur PC/MAC, and cant be used to plug in a USB HD? Only can use front port?

I save files from my computer hard drive to the mpc HD no problem. All you need to do is create a folder and drag and drop. This is easily explained in the manual. As far as everything else is it never stated to audition from the HD as we didn`t even have that function until O.S. version 1.50 or 1.60 I forget. But from here on out I suggest you check it out to see what Aksys can and was made to do. Never assume anything.

Aswell they havent come out with an update in a while. Secondly this is not the first time they've pull sht like this, I remember a time when the 8 outs for the 4K were on back order for 8 months.

I ain`t akai and I have been through the same things you are going through now. But you should read the manual cuz some of what you are asking is on the first pages of the manual. And I might add that it is no use asking the same basic actions you asked before.

Like before nothing is going to change except you. Recommend you contact Akai support about your concerns and how they should update Aksys as soon as possible.

The choice is yours. And do a search too it does wonders. No use asking or claiming functions that don`t exist help yourself first by reading.
