after recording track mutes over a few passes, overdubbing etc, it becomes clear that the takes i'm doing are getting undermined by previous takes...i get that it would do this (*unfortunately lots of events get written when only a few state changes are really required) , but as a result i need to go through the step edit page - showing only particular track mutes i wanted to focus on...and manually deleting the *multiple consecutive on's, and off's when really i only need the one or two state changes that really need to be there.....also it could be that these takes are on different tracks, i know that this can happen as i expect some mutes get put in their respective tracks no?

ANYWAY - JJ crew...

it would be nice to have track mute info in the grid edit page , perhaps shown as a line, full up for mute off's - and full down for mute on's.

any thoughts on this out there?

also (dunno if anyone else has noticed this)...i don't have the correct mute settings at the beginning of the song...they somehow seem to get written in a few bars into the song...

i think u need to make sure that the muted tracks are muted b4 u press rec/odub......so that theyre 'printed' into the seq immedtaitely on recording..... i sometimes start recording mutes part way through a seq with 'odub+play' (not 'playstart') in these cases my mutes at the before that point can often be lost....so keep an eye on that.

i dont think its a fault of the os or anything tho' cos it seems quite a logical result....but as i noted at the top of the thread - the multiple mute/unmutes can overdub onto each other and cancel themselves out - so that could be the problem u r finding at the start of yr seq's
