MPC FREEZES WHEN PURGING

mine did it twice in the past couple months....is there something im doing that causes that?


the screen will freeze with "processing..." on it

This has happened to me on at least 4 occasions.

u sure u aint just bein impatient? it can take a bit...

yeah this has happened to my 2000 a couple of times.
nothing else has ever made it freeze, just purge.
I suppose the trick is to make sure you save before purging to be safe

Sounds like bad RAM.

Try taking out the memory chips, loading a program with samples, delete the program and the hit purge. If it works then you have a fair idea the exta memory is the culprit.

That shit can sometimes take 10 min
