need a cf that holds a lot of memory

i brought a sandisk 1gig cf it dont hold a lot of samples like the 128mb that came with my 500. which one shold i grab 512mb or 2gig. i cant find a 256mb know where.

the 1 gig card has more space than the 128mb card.

Ok I wouldn't be as harsh as the others. I will give you the benefit of the the doubt and say your card was either corrupted or you made an error in explaining yourself

Hey bro. 1 gig is roughly 1,200mb so your 1 GB card is bigger than the 128 ram in your MPC. Your MPC does not save anything on the Ram. Things get loaded into the ram and flushed from that memory when some other project gets loaded or when the MP gets turned off.
If you really wanna hold a lot of memory I would get a Hard Drive and the install kit for it. I have an 80 GB HD in my MPC. I never have to worry about going somewhere with my MPC and leaving the card, thus leaving me without my music and I have tons of more space for a lil extra dough. I have CF cards and they come in handy every now and then, so if you want one of those keep the 1 you got and get the HDM-10 kit to mount the HD inside your MPC and go to the sticky @ the top of this forum and see which HDs work with the MPC.

So, after formatting a drive rated as 1gig, you will always end up with less due to the fact that a real megabyte is actually 1024 kilobytes and not 1000 as the manufacturers will have you believe.

A 1 gig CF card should give you somewhere around 930 MB of usable space after formatting.
