Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

is it normal for my mpc2000 to lag when playin..

cause i swear when i lay down tracks it sounds sick.....but when play back time its like laggin.......

It might be the way you chopped your samples. If you leave too much space in front of a sample; lets say a kick drum when you record the kick drum it tends to have a lag in the sound. So check the chopping of the sample.

its the amount of space/time that the machine shifts the notes played, to a prescribe set of values.

It Helps your NOTES that you hit on the pads, get on beat.

If you have this off. Your beats depending on your skill level. tend to sound off beat, because of your inability to hit the pads like a GOD.
