open your ear my boy. nothing in my joint is a loop. NOTHING. the samples are all chopped with me playing other sounds myself. some percussions are played and recorded by me live.

ps.

thats why I played the chops at the begining before the beat started. did that sound like a loop to you?

By indivisibleProductions Mon Oct 15, 2007 2:14 am
I didn't say the samples were a loop, I said the song is just one 4 bar loop. Over and over again... Cutting some drums for a few bars doesn't change the fact that the whole song is just one big loop. Atleast throw a chorus in there or something...

You're getting a little too worked up over what some guy on the internet said, though, don't ya think?

worked up? no. I like to call people out, too many cats on here try to drop knowledge but have wack music. so at the end of the day, you need to show me something. I can post more heat if you like maybe i will post a 8 bar loop.

There's nothing legendary about the MPC sequencer. The MPC's sound was was it marquee feature and that came to an end after the 3000.

1 - 2 - The MPC has a better resume ( proven success passed test of time ) /b]
No it didn't Akai went broke and when the company died the real MPCs died with it. The 500, 1000, 2500 are Numark cost cutting regurgitations and not part of that legacy.

[b]3 - MPC are not supposed to be all in one box and akai went damn near broke when they tried to make one ( mpc 4000 )

Less is not more less is less. That argument has gotten. Not one 2500 owner complained about Cd burning or JJ OS audio tracks. Meanwhile , the argument continues that the MV does too much. If you don't need it don't use it. Numark is aware that it's users will excuse a lot which is why they don't give you anything including proper support.

I mean why on gods earth would anyone like 24bit? oh well.

Because there's much more to making music with a sampler than ripping and chopping old records.

BTW- the true MPC grit is a product of the 12bit S-900/950 sample engine not the chopped down Z-series transplanted in the new MPCs.

i'm merely addressing your points as posted. The problem is that you still haven't listed anything unique in the MPC that the MV can't do.

We can have a discussion without pissing match.

since a mv to me is more like a pc in a way, its like saying name something the MV can do that a PC/software/Midi controller cant do?

The MV would have been the better deal!!!

Black Pads are not really a feature....just a look!
The MV compares to the 4000 and NO OTHER MPC!
Yeah, there's a learning curve, but you'd have had more bang for your bucks with the extra cash on the MV!

To reply to the 3rd thread about there's a reason MV's are so cheap!!! Well let's think about that! There's also a reason MPC's need 3rd party programming ( JJ OS), which evens the playing field! There's also more MPC's for sale than other samplers/sequencers in it's class. Why are so many for sale if owners are so satisfied?
Whatever your answer might be....apply that to why MV's are for sale too!

I don't look at the MV as a "One Box Solution" it just handles many solutions in one box! It's good for people starting out to have all the features in one box, but more seasoned producers use different tools for different task! For those who think the MV has too many bells & whistles.... It's better to have features you don't use, than to need features you don't have!

Should have copped the MV!!! Image

I took that as a joke...Ha Ha. I know you won't find too many pro facilities (including legit home/project studios) still tracking everything @ 16/44.1. If so, their apparent intent is for PERSONAL PREFERENCES ONLY. Everyone I know tracks mostly 24/44.1 (or higher in terms of khz). My ears have had enough of dull lifeless sounds/recordings through the years. Spent a lotta years recording, dating back to (and I sometimes get a chuckle outta this) the early eighties (just around the time a lotta y'all were concieved). But jokes aside, detailness & headroom becomes a factor if you're still rocking @ 16 bit. The quality of your CONVERTERS has a lot to do with that as well. But then sometimes you can't avoid dealing with 16 bit recordings (take current cd's and various audio streaming/playback devices for example). Although if I'm importing a 16 bit file, I can assure you that it's going into a 24 bit enviroment.

Sometimes i just wonder if there is no MV-forums.com somewhere out there (no, i will not type that into my browsers URL bar now to actually check out ;)
