MPC'S V MV8800

It's funny this is my first post here
If you want more features and easier workflow go with the mv
If you want the solid timing and the sound go with the mpc
That's all I think

can workflow really get any easier than what it already is on mpc series. I'm speaking for 1000, 2500, and 4k. if so, then I just figured out why people go for the MV.


for real tho, I checked out the MV8800 at GC, felt rather cheap no improvement over akai MPC series in built quality. IMO

the interface looked kinda ugly too...

I went from 2000 to 4000 to MV.

It's an easier workflow IMO and there is no problem with the timing. That's question of whether the user will read the manual or not. Furthermore 96ppqn isn't solid it's just limited. A key solo with any complexity is rendered to pure sh!t with the 1000 and 2500 . To get the robotic "MPC" feel i just set it to 80 or 120 ppqn.

I didn't approach the MV as a MPC clone so i didn't have the problems most complain about. The pads are indeed different but there's nothing cheap about it's build quality. I left the 4K behind and pretty happy about it. I respect that others may different experiences and opinions.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough when I said timing
I mean the tightness of the sequencer which is not related to the quantization
But I couldn't say there is a huge difference between the timing of this two machines

I've always chalked up 96ppqn as just a lack of resolution.

Hey wuts up everybody! I've had my MV for a few months now, but before i purchased my MV i used MPC's for 15 years. If you need a all in one hardware studio, for the price the MV can't be beat! If you are using a DAW for recording the MV and the MPC 4000 is overkill. With a DAW the 1000 and the 2500 is straight.
