converting a sequence into a mp3

wut up i made a beat and converted it into one long sequence i want to convert it to a mp3 so i can hear it on my laptop

I use Adobe Audition, but if you haven't got that or any other audio program that will allow you to convert your wav into an mp3, I can only suggest googling for 'wav to mp3 converter' in the hope that you'll find one that is free.
Failing all that, a very long-winded approach would be to burn your tune onto a CD, then use windows media player to rip it to mp3. It's a bit stupid that it only allows ripping to mp3 from cd's and not straight from wav files.

I've made quite a few assumptions here--> that you've got a PC running windows with a cd-burning program.... oh yeah.. and that you've already connected the output of your mpc to your computer's soundcard and recorded a wav file..

I'm sure you'll be able to find a free wav to mp3 converter out there on the big wide-world super-information tinternet highway.

bounce your sequence (record the main outs) and save it on the mpc as a .wav sample

connect it to your computer

drag the file across

you will be able to play it on most programs as it is a .wav

worst comes to worst find a program to convert to .mp3 (even itunes will do this for you)

the thing is when i drag it out the mp as a long sequence its a sequence file so what program is converting that type of file

on your MPC go to record mode and choose direct out. press play and it'll record your track...

SAVE IT

transfer it over

kids these days...

Just to make it clearer:

On the MAIN screen select your sequence,
Go to MODE+PAD5 (Record),
Choose Input:MAIN OUT,
Press F6 (Record),
Press PLAY.
Hit STOP when you've recorded enough,
Keep the sample,
Drag over to computer through USB.

A sequence file doesn't contain any audio.

Quote from manual:
"The performance data you made by hitting the pads will be recorded on a track as a pad event. A track can contain other
events, such as Q-Link slider information, tempo change etc…
Note: The Sequencer feature records only performance data (when and which pad you hit, etc… ). It does not record the actual sound."
