be more specific with your problem. if you're able to control the Motif with your MP then recording shouldn't be any different, just hit record and go.

I asked the same question about my Fantom a while back.
...Never got a response though....

Are you talking about recording midi data on the mpc (ie in it's tracks like you would the mpc), or are you talking about sequencing on the motif/fantom/zeigheilder industrial turbine and slaving it to the mpc?

I would like to play my Fantom X6 (midi info) into my MPC.
Then, have my Fantom act as a sound module to track into Audition.
The Fantom is limited in the fact that It wont alllow you to set up sequences with track mutes, like the MPC.
Arranging a song is much simpler on the MPC.

Hi....
Fantom midi out into mpc midi in
MPC midi out into fantom (or motiff, whatever) in
When you press a key the mpc will recieve midi data and record it....
When you play back on the mpc the fantom will respond to the midi sequesnce.
Make sure:
The track on the mpc is set to output midi on the correct channel for your synth, otherwise you will hear nothing.
Also if the fantom/motiff/whatever has a setting to disable internal midi trigger its worth switching that on otherwise you get double notes...
