Connecting MicroKorg to MPC1000

What's up,

Just received my MicroKorg today, is anyone able to tell me the best way to connect the Korg to the MPC?

I've got MIDI cables and RCA cables, when the MIDI cables are connected i'm getting the sounds stored in the MP from it and get use the Korg sounds.

I also run these through the Edirol UA-1EX.
So i'm wanting the Korg --> MP --> Edirol --> PC

If anyone can help me out i'd appreciate that.

Here's what you could do:

- Connect midi cables (in/out)
- Connect RCA cables from the microkorg to the mpc input
- Set your track type to MIDI and Pgm to OFF on the mpc
- Set Midi to 1A on the mpc (if you are using midi out A and midi in 1)
- Go the mixer (mode pad8) -> Input -> set Input thru to ON and source to ANALOG
- Set local Off on the microkorg
- Connect the stereo outs of the mpc to your edirol ua-1ex

Cool thanks for your help with that. Do you just need one MIDI cable from the MPC's MIDI IN to the KORG's MIDI OUT...or two MIDI cables?

Does anyone know the way without using MIDI cables. I figure the best way is to take jack cables form the MPC's RECORD IN and take that to the MicroKORG's AUDIO 2 LINE?

Just need the settings, tried the way in the manual but i'm missing something.

Connect RCA cables from the microkorg to the mpc input

if you use a turntable, i would recommend hooking the microkorg up to a different slot on your soundcard, or if you dont have multiple slots, just buy a cheap mixer and hook up your turntable and korg and from there hook it up to your mpc input..

midi :
MPC midi out a > korg midi in
MPC Midi in a > korg midi out..

this way you can play your notes on the korg and the seq data will be saved in the MP, if you playback, the MP sends the midi data to the korg.
