Of those of you that actually use the Akai OS 1.23, are their any reproducable bugs you have encountered?

If so, please post them here.

the only thing that is really bugging me with the akai os 1.23 is the old midi mute bug which occurs if you set oneshotsamples to immediate.
because of this bug i can either use midi tracks with external gear OR mpc programs with long samples that i want to mute at any given time but not both. i work around that bug but i like to have it sorted out.
till now i have no other bugs to report, but i really like akai to incorporate some new features into the official os like true stereo chopshop, better documentation of the file system to avoid save bugs, and some other useful parts to put the jj os in shame (i doubt they will provide us with more features because they are in for the money and jj is in for the players of instruments).

here is another annoying bug in all official akai os up to the last one:
if i power on my machine the internal harddrive will not stop spinning till i either load a sample from it (a sequence or a program without samples does not work) or till i make the first sequence active by hitting play one time. then the hdd spins up if i go to the load/save pages and properly spins down and stops within a few seconds after i move to another page. this is not a cruical bug but i dont like it when hardware does act weird.
can anyone confirm this behaviour on his machine?

^^
So are you saying that you have you have this problem with the Akai OS but this isn't an issue with the JJ OS?

A better documentation? You mean a better implementation? Documenting bugs is not a good approach.

yes, i have this problem with all akai os. no, i don´t know if this is an issue with the jj os, because i never tried it. also you asked about flaws of the original os and not about the jjs.

yes, you are right that would be even better. but till they can sort out the implementation it would be nice to have some official advice on how to use the file system properly without the risk of running into errors. like how many folders can be in the root directory. how long can file names be, etc...
we sorted most of this out already but i like to have a machine without this sort of flaws. it is not a good style of engineering not finishing a product if the customers find more bugs than the own quality control. some products can´t be upgraded after leaving the factory but the mpc can.

maybe akai can surprise us, because they did a version 2 os for the 1000 that implemented some new features. but if you look at how long it took to roll out the mpk (is it anywhere on the streets, yet?), they might be either working hard on a 4000 successor or they are really on the go down and we might not expect much more of them. but looking at their history sometimes it took them ages to release an update. you never know...

Yes, I did ask about flaws about the original OS. However, I suspect the problem you are having is not with the OS. It's most likely with your MPC and/or hard drive.

What does this mean?

There's the midi beat clock bug where if you have the mpc locked to a daw in slave mode the mpc plays constantly ahead of the beat, instead of on or slightly behind the grid like it's supposed to.

not an issue with the JJ OS, or akai os 1.0 - 1.1

this bug has been reported ad nauseum and has never been dealt with by akai.
