MPC 2000XL-MCD CRASHES

Hello, can you please help me with this problem?

My mpc crashes and i dont have a clue of what to do next - its driving me crazy.Any help would be welcome.

Gear List

- MPC 2000 XL MCD
- NOVATION SUPERNOVA 2 SYNTH
- DIGIDESIGN MBOX 2
- COMPAQ PRESARIO 1700 WITH 512 MB RAM

Software

- REASON 3.0

My setup is as follows

MPC MIDI OUT A -----> NOVATION SUPERNOVA II SYNTH MIDI IN
MPC MIDI OUT B -----> MBOX II MIDI IN (CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER BY USB)

I use the MPC for drums and as my master sequencer, and propellerhead reason and the supernova synth
as sound modules.Reason (Slave) and the mpc (Master) synchronized to MIDI clock.

Everything was ok until three weeks ago.Now, when i try to play the sounds from the
supernova or from reason on the MPC pads, there are note drops, notes playing indefinetly,
notes changing octaves and most of the time the mpc crashing as a consequence of the previous
events.

- I switched midi cables. The problems werent resolved.

- I Isolated the supernova and the mpc from the computer and the problems were still there.(disconnected
the midi cable going from the pc to the mpc)

- Isolated the mpc and the computer from the supernova and again the problems were there.(disconnected
the midi cable going from the supernova to the mpc)

After that i changed the MIDI OUT order

MPC MIDI OUT A-----> MBOX II MIDI IN (CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER BY USB)
MPC MIDI OUT B-----> NOVATION SUPERNOVA II SYNTH MIDI IN

And all the problems still remained.

Then i disconnected one of the modules and kept only the connection changing the midi out order

MPC MIDI OUT A-----> MBOX II MIDI IN (CONNECTED TO THE COMPUTER BY USB).
Played the pads and after a while - crash.

After that, i disconnected the cable going from the mpc to the soundcard and connected

MPC MIDI OUT B -----> NOVATION SUPERNOVA II SYNTH MIDI IN
Played the pads and after a while - crash.

In all the steps ive made , pressed SHIFT + 9 and then choosed as SYNC MODE:MIDI CLOCK and the mpc crashed almost immediatly. The SYNC OUT was A or B as the case - the goal was to have proppellershead reason 3.0 sequencer as slave.


Finally, i formated a CF Card and reinstalled the OS and repeated all the above steps, with no luck.

anymore ideas?

Is this a Blue model or Gray? Cause the Blue ones tend to have this problem for some reason.

Its the blue one.u know how i might solve this problem?

This has been happening alot to people on here and it's always the blue ones for some reason. I have a feeling it could be your memory maybe. Maybe try to reseat the memory!

reset memory ? how do i do that?

Take it out and put it back in. If you know what memory looks like for a computer then you will recognize it in the MPC.
